hey, I really have nothing to say

...except for that today's XC practice was canceled because it's 106 degrees outside no joke,

we have a meet tomorrow and it better not be 106 degrees then,

That I might be late for aforesaid meet because I have to get my dental retainer,

and I finally finished all those tests this morning at school.

The picture is when I was studying for the anatomy test... see the extensive notes on my laptop??

Anyway, we leave for retreat on wednesday, and I really should start packing.

Packing.  Love it, hate it.

hey its friday night

...and we totally have a XC meet tomorrow morning.

Crazy much?

Also, I am Not Studying for my anatomy test on Monday.  I DID study for it some this morning, though, during a study period that was algebra (test period=finish test then study period or try-to-talk-and-have-the-teacher-tell-you-to-be-quiet period.  Whichever you prefer.)

...the main topic at school is homecoming.

Homecoming floats, homecoming skits, and especially the homecoming dance...

More specifically, what guys are going to invite what girls to the dance.

It's crazy.

I'm fairly sure that nobody will invite me, with me transferring into this school in my junior year and all, but that's okay.  Besides, most of the fun is to see who asks who.  After all, everyone finds out that night.

Also, retreat is coming up, and that's sure to be a totally crazy three days in the mountains.

...

While we're in the topic of crazy, this was musical theatre today:

HAHA.  I love these peeps.  But look a little closer, and you'll see what the point is...

Yeah, that's me pushing for all I'm worth.
Hey, for the record, I WON.  I got his feet out of her hair.
Or, at least, I got them out temporarily.

Before I get weird looks, here's the disclaimer: all these people are great.  We just get a little crazy on occasion, as shown here.  We don't have constant problems with feet in hair or anything.

It WAS sixth period.

XC meet 1

First cross country meet was today.

Basically, it denoted running three miles as fast as you could handle towards the finish line then collapsing onto the grass and looking as though Bellatrix Lestrange hit you with a quick and effective Cruciatis Curse.

Charming, right?

No, really, it wasn't that bad, and it was DEFINITELY not just me out on the grass.  Some of the best guys were out there too, so I think it's perfectly normal.  One of the guys had to help me up; I seriously think he thought that there was something wrong with me.  Hey, I'm okay now!!!

Uh, another meet on saturday.

yeah pretty late

Yeah so I have a XC meet tomorrow afternoon, and I'm so nervous I can't sleep, which explains why I'm writing this right now.

No, seriously, I went to bed at EIGHT-THIRTY, people.  Eight-thirty!  Do you realize how early that is???  Well, fat lot of good it did me, as it's more than two hours later and I'm still not sleeping

Plus, the nervousness is making it really hard to study, and I had a English test and an anatomy quiz this morning, I have a Spanish test first block tomorrow, another anatomy quiz on wednesday, yet another anatomy quiz on thursday (they never end) and a English quiz, an Algebra test on friday, and let's not forget that pretty major History test next monday.

I may be missing a few tests here or there, but you get the gyst of it.

Did I mention there's another meet on Saturday?  It's an early-morning one.

I need to break out of this nervous habit-thing.  I don't bite my nails, but I'm going to need a LOT of consealer to hide the dark circles under my eyes tomorrow morning.

Except I don't use consealer... hm.

We'll figure that out later, once I get some actual sleep.

cross country is immature

...guess what sports team was messing around on the playground while they were waiting for their coach to get to practice?

Well, everyone but Nate, who's too mature for that kind of stuff.

HOWEVER, the important thing is that we all have fun.  And fun---we have it.  =)  We get along pretty well as a team, for the most part.  We sometimes get annoyed with eachother, but we're generally there for eachother each and every practice; we encourage eachother.  We may not be a team in the same way as football or even cheer, but we are a team.

...even if that means we're all going to play hide-and-go-seek and jump into the kiddie ball return (true story).

monday (plus guest post from Nate #2)

Oh hey everyone; so below is another guest post from my bro.  Quick overview of what HIS run was like on monday:

...

Remember me?  Yeah, me, the duo-mewtwo duo-lucario guy.  But anyway, XC monday was pretty cool.  Get this.  So we're running through this neighborhood, and of course I'm thinking "ah....hurts bad...got xyz distance left....." that sort of stuff.  Naturally, I'm running on the left side of the sidewalk, and my left hand (my watch hand) hits this car's right mirror.  I think that my watch could have done some damage to it, but I think "it'll be okay...." Fifteen second's later I know I'm going to have to go back and make sure I didn't do any damage.  So I did, and I didn't find anything what I could have done...but get this.  I finish the run, and only after like a minute and a half after finishing I realize that my left hand's bleeding.  I think I punctured a vein, but it didn't hurt barely at all.  Strange how we can injure ourselves and not notice it.  Yeah, I know, I couldn't come up with anything more exciting for cross country but I have to guest post here once in a while.  See you all.

Dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun!!!!!

...

Uh, and here's mine:

Basically mine was pretty good because I only had to stop once in 2 1/2 miles, and that was to let a car turn.  I mean, that's really good for my asthma.  Also, kinda raced the senior guys (I lost.)  Maybe if I had tried a little harder... anyway, it amuses the rest of the team to watch people fight it out, even if it's just practice.  Also, pulled muscles like, running hills or something.  Coach said I had to skip a practice, but I'll be back tomorrow (wednesday).  Mostly because we have our first meet next tuesday (ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh), I guess.  I mean, how well I do is entirely dependent on what the weather will be like for my asthma.  Speaking of meets, I thought that I WASN'T going to go to Catalina for a meet several weeks from now, but it turns out that because there's only two of us girls, we'll probably both be going.  Nate is almost definitely going, since he is one of the fastest kids on our team.

Oh, and have I mentioned that so many of us are injured?  It's not just me!  At least I can kinda run... I mean, our team captain can barely walk, let alone RUN.  And two other kids are injured too.  It kinda stinks.

We had better all get de-injured by Tuesday.

I pulled a muscle in my leg!  AHHHHHHHHHHHH now I can't run!

Will I be better by monday???

...

We ran hills today!

No, really, that's all.  I won't go into the details, I'll just say that almost everyone felt at least part dead when we finished.

So since I have nothing else to say, here's a random elf:

Yes, my artwork.  This is just a little bit of the whole piece.  =)

lookie a post

Hey, so I finished all my homework before seven!  Yes, I am so awesome it hurts.

Anyway.

We had team pictures for XC today, and it was THE FUNNIEST THING EVER.  Okay, not the pictures, but our uniforms.  No, scratch that.  The boy's uniforms.  Their shorts, specifically.

They're soooooo short!  I mean, ridiculously short for boys.  Boy's XC shorts always are, but it's not as funny until you're surrounded by sixteen guys all cycling from looking miserable to cracking jokes about short length.  I kept on laughing---I couldn't help it.  I mean, they are SHORT, if I wasn't clear before.  Like, the-football-team-shouts-at-them-short.  HAH.  The football team yelling at the guys during warmup around the field because their shorts are so short?  PRICELESS.  By the way, it's our warmup field.  We just let cheer and football use it because we're nice like that.  Besides, if it rains, their uniforms will cover more of the astroturf than ours will.

Sorry.  Couldn't resist.

Oh, and if any of you guys are reading this, when I get my team photo, I'm totally hanging it up on my desk.  Don't try to fight it.

Yeah, I said I'd try to post on friday nights

Okay, I know I said I was AIMING to post every friday night, but (obviously) that didn't happen.

It's been pretty crazy around here.

Back to school tomorrow after our three-day weekend (where did all that time go?)  and we've got XC team pictures tomorrow.  Uh, this is going to be interesting.

In other news, I'm doing my homework somewhat ahead of time so I'll have time to read this...
...when it comes out on the 21st.  Yes, I am more excited for this than I was for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.

Yes, I know it's totally ridiculous that I read this stuff; my brother says it's stupid, but that's because he's cooler than I am.

Anyway, getting back on topic, I'll try to post every friday night from now on, but no direct promises (especially since I'll have Vlad Tod to read!)

no, really, this is my reason

People, if you wonder why I run cross-country, it's so I won't have to do handsprings Selena Gomez's "Naturally" in front of everyone in the gym during pep rally like the cheerleaders do.

Okay, that's only part of it.  Mostly because I just really love XC.

Speaking of XC, we got our formal uniforms... you know, for meets.  I'm not sure if the boys or the girls have it worse--- us girls have these horrible baggy turquoise shorts, (some of the boys have them too), and most of the boys' shorts are so short that they've been cracking jokes about them ever since (either that or be miserable, right?)  I mean, they'd almost be short for girl's shorts.  But they're putting them on boys.  Poor boys.  At least they're not a horrible shade of turquoise AND short, right??  Then our jerseys are okay.  I got a small size so it will fit me.

And yes, I'm already aware we'll be a laugh show once team pictures are taken.  (groan.)

random

He likes her, and there's another guy who maybe kinda possibly a little bit if that's really possible likes this other girl, who likes the first guy and who's friends with the first girl.

Yup.  Gotta love highschool.

Sixteen guys plus casey and G

Yes, you read that right!!!

Another girl!!  We'll call her G for now, and I think I can totally say that she is AWESOME.

Like, totally.

It's pretty crazy, though, because there's sixteen guys then G and I.

So today was the first day of school.  The nurse wasn't in her office after school, so I had to wait ten minutes then was late to XC and my inhaler didn't take effect.

Was almost tempted to sneak an inhaler into school and just use it by myself once seventh period was over, but I restrained.  I mean, I'm not THAT bad.  From now on I'm taking it at lunch instead of after school.  That way it'll have long enough to take effect, and I won't be going "WHEEZE GASP WHEEZE."
